Massimiliano Luca
I am a researcher in the Mobile and Social Computing Lab at Bruno Kessler Foundation and the head of research at Pulse.io. I obtained my PhD in November 2023 from the Faculty of Computer Science at the Free University of Bolzano. During my PhD, I was a Visitor Researcher at MIT Connection Science and a Visiting Ph.D. Student at CSIC-IFISC. Also, I was a research intern at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Telefonica Research, where I worked with Enrique Frias-Martinez and Andra Lutu.
I am interested in computational sustainability and machine learning methods to predict and generate human behaviors. Human behaviors are highly connected with multiple modern challenges such as migration, pollution, the spreading of diseases, and many others. Currently, I am working on creating geographically transferable deep learning models.
